Assessment Plans
History Assessment: Summative, Diagnostic, Formal, & Informal
Students will answer in their own opinions and turn in their quick writes. Next, students will listen and take notes on the PowerPoint slides. These notes are to be turned in on the day of their unit test.
The students will be assessed on their research by making tallies of how often students participate during the active academic debate on the two parties involved in the Zoot Suit Riots.
English Assessment:
A. Diagnostic/Entry Level
- After verbal responses I will be able to Asses and if my students understand of Character traits and usage.
B Summative
Students will lead a Socratic seminar in which they will discuss the facts of the court trial in the play "Zoot Suit". After, students will write an essay and display their understanding of cultural biases central to the story.
Spanish Assessment:
Formative:
Students will see and hear primary sources and read articles in Spanish to formulate an opinion of whether the works are biased and/or have racial prejudice against a certain group.
Summative:
Students will also learn how to write a business letter including an introduction, body and closing.
The students will assessed in content as well as grammar and punctuation since they will in Spanish.
